Less is more: slimming down SAP® transactions

You are here:

SAP® ERP systems have more than 100,000 transactions for the numerous modules. Depending on the process, users call up over five individual transactions for the final completion of a booking. That's avoidable crap!

It is understandable that users often do not jump for joy when it comes to their work in the SAP® ERP system. We do not mean to imply that the system is bad - after all, we are ourselves SAP® experts and earn our bread with Software and IT Services. Quite the opposite! The system allows the integration of all conceivable modules that are necessary to make business processes controllable.

Yes, and what is the problem then?

Historically grown system landscapes. In other words, companies and public administrations often start with certain modules (e.g., for materials management) and add other transactions only later. In the process, things that don't fit are often made to fit. You know what we mean...

If we look at the example of SD invoicing - this is where our services are located - then we already have at least three transactions: Open transaction VA01 to create SD order, open transaction VL02N > post goods receipt, open transaction VA02 and process SD document and then bill.

What can be a tasty diet plan?

Our hobbyhorse is process consulting in the run-up to an ERP implementation project. We drop by and look at the WHOLE process chain together with you to see where things could run more efficiently.

We make you an offer that provides you with two major benefits: Firstly, we automate Purchase To Pay and Order To Cash processes where it basically only means unnecessary time expenditure if an employee has to deal with it. This is made possible by an intelligent OCR route (automatic document recognition) and the specification of a maximum amount up to which invoices may "pass through".

On the other hand, thanks to our VIROCK method the appropriate add-ons (if not available in the standard system) in just a few weeks and provide the user with a clear SAP® monitor that shows directly (status traffic light) where something still needs to be done. Then it is only a few clicks to the final processing. And the whole thing WITHOUT media discontinuity, i.e. a switch to Outlook, for example, also becomes unnecessary.

Diet can therefore be quite fun 😉. Jojo effects excluded! We will gladly explain without obligation whether and how this can make sense for you. Get in touch with us: thomas.dresselhaus@consult-sk.de; stephan.kaup@consult-sk.de .
