What is it about?
Starting January 1, 2025, companies in Germany must be able to receive electronic invoices. The next step will follow as early as January 1, 2027: then even the Sending structured invoice formats such as XRechnung and ZUGFeRD mandatory – initially for companies with an annual turnover of over 800,000 euros, and from 2028 for all companies in B2B business transactions. PDF and paper invoices will be a thing of the past.
The real challenge lies less in the law itself and more in its implementation: formats, delivery channels, validation, error handling, archiving, and master data quality must work together – across departments, IT, and business partners. Starting too late risks unnecessary project effort, bottlenecks in IT resources, and rising implementation costs.
Two paths to e-invoicing: Add-on or integrated solution?
This is exactly where our joint webinar with CAS AG comes in. The focus is on the central make-or-buy question: Is Expansion of the existing ERP system, for example via a SAP add-on, with which XInvoice and ZUGFeRD created and sent directly from SAP?
