During a tax audit, the tax authorities demanded the Cash register data In the DSFinV-K format, each receipt assigned to the respective cash closing - not feasible in this form, which threatened a supplementary assessment. At the same time, the existing cash software was discontinued. It was also made more difficult by the fact that FRS does not have a retail counter or an SAP CAR module and operates in different countries with their own tax regulations. And on short ferry trips, onboard sales must be processed in just a few minutes.
In collaboration with Hokona GmbH (provider of SAP Customer Checkout) and Consult-SK, a customized checkout infrastructure was created. The adapted Customer Checkout software accelerates onboard checkout processes, allows for various payment methods, is fully integrated with SAP, and can even be used offline – transactions are collected and synchronized as soon as a connection is re-established. The SAP add-on Receipt4S® documents and archives every transaction in an audit-proof manner; a traffic light system detects errors early and ensures compliance across all countries.
FRS KG is noticeably processing onboard sales more quickly today and is generating more revenue on the same ferry route because customers are being served faster. The risk of a tax assessment due to insufficient documentation is minimized, as all data is available in an audit-proof and legally compliant manner. The solution has proven to be future-proof and is being rolled out to additional ferries.
