Our small but fine IT herd has another member! Since October 1, 2020 Olga Becker supports us actively in the application and web development.
From media informatics and web development to SAP application development - can it work? Oh yes, it can! Where inquisitiveness and the desire for challenges meet, potential is created. This is exactly the case for our new employee Olga Becker.
After studying to become a "state-certified media computer scientist", she first worked as a web developer for a few years and then took on a private challenge: raising children (happy mother of 2 wonderful daughters, 8 and 10 years old). However, a complete career break was out of the question for the Tajik-German bundle of energy and so she acquired basic knowledge of the SAP programming language ABAP as well as the framework SAPUI5 in her spare time. But it didn't stop at dipping a toe into the subject matter; she dared to make a lateral move into the SAP world and gained experience.
Olga, what motivated you to work in web development and SAP?
With every new task in the field of SAP and web development, you always face new challenges. But that's exactly what I find so exciting and varied. No day is like the other. It never gets boring ;-). Especially in the IT world, there are always new innovations and new technologies.
Since I bring a high willingness to learn, I like to train again and again and thus expand my knowledge. After all, you never stop learning! The bottom line: I feel like I've arrived and that I'm in the right place in my job. I enjoy the tasks and am motivated when I go to work. And motivation is the key to success.
This motivation must also be present in your private life - otherwise we can't explain your hobbies :). What are you up to?
In my free time, I enjoy strength training in the gym (3 - 4 times a week). The joint training with my husband always motivates me anew. For me, this is a good balance to everyday life. I also enjoy the time we can spend together on a sporting level. In addition to my enthusiasm for fitness, I also have a passion for singing. Singing simply does my soul and body good; I can leave everyday life behind me for a moment ;-).
My other hobbies also include dancing, photo editing with Photoshop, creating family slideshows, baking with kids and cooking.
And what tasks are you most looking forward to with us?
I am looking forward to exciting projects in the SAPUI5 environment, especially the upcoming UI5 implementation of the software Receipt4S. Since I'm not only interested in frontend development, but also in backend development, I'm also glad that I have the chance to expand my ABAP knowledge at Consult-SK GmbH. And with such helpful team colleagues who have a high level of expertise in SAP and ABAP, there is nothing standing in my way 😉 .
Finally, a completely SAP-irrelevant question: You are banished to a desert island and are only allowed to take one item with you. What would that be?
I would take a helicopter with me so that I could fly back again. As beautiful as a desert island might be, it wouldn't be for me in the long run without company. Like Tom Hanks in "Cast Away"? - No way!!!
