CSK has a new team member since September 1, 2020. In the future, she will support us in application consulting and development. We sat down with our new employee and asked her in more detail...
Merna Nassif graduated from the Kurt-Tucholsky-Gesamtschule in Minden this year and tried to find out through information and taster days as well as consulting appointments whether the field of information technology could be her future place of work. After the 21-year-old got an idea of the work of an SAP application consultant and developer during a two-week internship at CSK, it didn't take long for both sides to decide: Let's pursue this further!
Since September 1, 2020, Merna has now been supporting us on a regular basis, while at the same time completing a dual study program at the FOM in Hanover to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Business Information Systems.
Merna, how did the interest in computer science and technology come about?
Nevertheless, after graduating from high school, I still couldn't decide what exactly I wanted to study. Computer science was a definite choice; however, I could not distinguish between the different courses of study that fall under computer science. Whether it should be a pure computer science degree, business informatics, applied computer science, IT security or media informatics was the big question. I lacked practical experience to decide on the right field of study.
Through your trainee Amir Saeidkhah I became aware of the CSK and I was allowed to apply for a two-week internship, which also worked out quickly and without any problems.
To our delight, you have now chosen business informatics. What influenced your decision?
My original plan was not to stay here in Minden. I wanted to complete my studies in the Ruhr region. Because of the great and friendly working atmosphere that prevailed in the company, I could only accept the offer of the dual study program and change my plans ?
Glad we could convince you :). How often do we have you in our office when you are studying at the same time?
Three days a week I'm at work. On Fridays and Saturdays, I complete my part-time courses at the FOM in Hanover.
At CSK, we have a manageable team size and therefore often work closely together. Therefore, beyond professional suitability, it plays a major role for us whether an applicant also fits us as a personal character. So here's a more personal question: If you could meet a famous person (living or deceased), who would it be?
Magdi Yacoub: He is an Egyptian-British surgeon. He is not only a very well-known surgeon, but he helps very many children and people who suffer from cancer or heart problems and cannot afford such operations. Yacoub establishes very many aid organizations that save the lives of these people. In poor countries like Egypt, many people die because they cannot afford many things.
For me it is very important that everyone tries to help people in need in their area, even if it is something very small. If everyone changes one little thing in their environment, we will have a much better world. Over the school years I have helped children who had language problems with tutoring. I also interpret very often for families who still have difficulties with the German language.
