Despite a narrow defeat of 27:29 against the record champion THW Kiel, one can speak of a solid performance in the last game (8.12.19) of our regional handball league team. Unfortunately, the good playful performance was not enough to take away points.
"It still distinguishes us that we stay on and fight for every goal," team captain Marian Michalczik commented on the game in an interview with Sky Sport. Also Handball World writes: "GWD Minden is annoying until the last minute". At the beginning of the game, GWD went ahead, not least due to the strong performance of goalkeeper Malte Semisch. By the break, the Kielers caught up again and took the lead. However, Grün Weiß Dankersen did not let this rob them of their motivation - every lead was doggedly made up to one goal! Each slip-up of THW Kiel was immediately punished by our guys. Marian Michalczik, whom we support as a player sponsor, was able to shine with 7 goals.
Letztendlich konnte jedoch Niklas Landin einen Strich unter die Invoice machen. Mit dem Schlussstand von 27:29 steht der THW Kiel nun nach über zwei Jahren wieder an der Spitze der Handballbundesliga.
